About Happy Caveman

We haven’t changed as much as the world around us has.

Technology changes.

Culture changes.

The pace changes.

But beneath all of it, humans still need many of the same things we’ve always needed.

To belong.

To trust.

To have purpose.

To laugh.

To be known.

To have each other.

Modern Life. Ancient Needs.

Our belief

We believe connection is the way back.

Happy Caveman was built around a simple observation: modern life gives us incredible tools, convenience, information, and access. But more isn’t always better.

More connection doesn’t always mean deeper relationships.

More communication doesn’t always mean people feel heard.

More productivity doesn’t always mean people feel fulfilled.

We don’t believe the answer is to reject modern life. We believe the answer is to remember what modern life can’t replace.

Human connection.

Our mission

Build more human places to learn, work, grow, and live.

The environments may look different. The human need underneath them doesn’t.

Schools where people feel like they belong.

Organizations where people trust each other and care about the work.

Communities where people look up long enough to notice one another.

Families who remember that presence still matters.

What we believe

We were built to belong.

01

Being seen matters.

02

Trust changes the way people show up.

03

Purpose gives work meaning.

04

Laughter lowers walls.

05

Small moments are rarely as small as they seem.

06

Technology should help humans connect, not replace the need to.

And sometimes the most radical thing we can do is simply look up.

Why “Happy Caveman”?

We’re not suggesting anyone throw away their phone and move into a cave.

Happy Caveman is a playful reminder that while the world around us has changed dramatically, the basic needs inside us haven’t.

We’re modern people with ancient wiring. And sometimes becoming more human starts by remembering what humans have always needed.

The people

Meet the humans behind Happy Caveman.

Joe Beckman

National Speaker • Best-Selling Author • Connection Crusader

In a world full of noise, notifications, and nonstop busy… Joe Beckman believes the most radical thing we can do is simply look up.

A nationally recognized speaker and the best-selling author of Just Look Up and Just Look Back, and co-founder of Happy Caveman, Joe has spent the last 20 years igniting human connection in over 2,000 schools, conferences, and communities in various industries across the globe.

Whether he’s speaking to youth leaders, administrators, sales teams, or CEO’s, his message is clear: connection isn’t a soft skill—it’s a survival skill. And through humor, vulnerability, music (yes, there’s a guitar involved), and powerful storytelling, Joe delivers keynotes that don’t just inspire—they stick.

When he’s not on stage, he’s at home in Minnesota, negotiating screen time with his 4 children and practicing what he preaches: meaningful connection.

Scott Kollmann

Co-founder • Strategic Thinker • Business Builder

Scott is the guy behind the scenes asking the questions, sweating the details, and making sure the big ideas actually work.

Before co-founding the company, Scott spent six years in corporate America, starting in marketing before moving into pricing strategy and eventually leading the pricing department for a billion-dollar company. Twelve plus years ago, he traded the corporate world for the opportunity to help build something from the ground up.

Since then, Scott has had a hand in nearly every part of the business—from business operations and strategy to marketing, brand, technology, and product development. He wears more hats than he can probably count, including everything from accounting and contracts to web and graphic design and building the Human Connection Hub. He’s the resident thinker, and admittedly a bit obsessive about the details. If something is worth creating, Scott believes it’s worth taking the time to make it exceptional.

At the heart of it all is a simple goal: help Joe’s natural gift reach as many people as possible. Because the stronger the business becomes, the more schools, organizations, and communities can experience the power of genuine human connection. Scott is perfectly happy letting Joe have the microphone—he’ll be behind the curtain making sure everything else works.

The world doesn’t need more noise.

It needs more people willing to choose each other.
